The Liberia National Police has investigated and subsequently charged suspect, Isaac Mulbah, 28, a resident of Peter Town – Nimba United, Mount Barclay Township for alleged Murder and Abuse of Corpse.
Suspect Isaac Mulbah, according to the LNP press release was arrested on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 9:00 AM in Nimba County.
During a Police investigation, the release indicated it was established that suspect Mulbah always beats and stripes naked his deceased fiancée, Grace Kollie, 34, whenever he sees her lecturing with other boys, accusing her of extra affairs.
Police in-depth investigation revealed that on October 22, 2021, at 2:00 AM, suspect Mulbah again sexually abused, stabbed and strangulated victim Grace Kollie resulting in her death, the LNP press release said.
The release added that the Police probe further stated that suspect Isaac Mulbah took the lifeless body of his victimized girlfriend, Kollie to a nearby swamp where he buried her before absconding the scene.
“In view of the foregoing facts and circumstances established, coupled with physical evidence (body) adduced, as well as witnesses’ accounts, suspect Isaac Mulbah has been charged with Murder and Abuse of Corpse in violation of Chapter 14, Section 14.1 and Chapter 18, Section 18.12 of the revised penal code of the Republic of Liberia pending Court trial.”
“Hence, this only proves to the public that when crimes are committed, members of the public need to remain calm and assist Police in ensuring that perpetrators are made to face the full weight of the law.”
“The public can be assured that no matter how long it takes, the LNP will ensure that those who commit crimes do not go with impunity,” the release stressed.
Meanwhile, the police say the remains of the victim, Grace Kollie had been buried by family members of the deceased.
