ALICOR FORMS COMMITTEE TO REVISE CONSTITUTION FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2005

Date:

MONROVIA – The leadership of the Association of Liberia Community Radio (ALICOR) has appointed a seven-member committee tasked with reviewing the ALICOR Constitution for the first time since the organization’s founding in 2005.

ALICOR stated that the committee’s goal is to revise the Constitution to ensure it reflects the current realities of the institution, addresses relevant issues that are in line with its developmental goals and future aspirations.

Hector Mulbah, ALICOR President, emphasized the importance of this revision. “Updating the Constitution is essential for ALICOR to remain responsive and adaptable to the ever-changing needs of our organization and its stakeholders, particularly in this new media era.” he noted.

Mulbah expressed optimism that the outcomes of this review would significantly shape ALICOR’s future, particularly in addressing the substantial challenges the organization faces. With a current membership of 65 radio stations across Liberia, strengthening the network of community radio stations is a top priority.

The appointed committee members are:

Emmanuel Johnson (Chairman), Henry Gbolumah (Co-chair), Jenneh Kamokai (Secretary) Kennedy, Domah Samuel Kplaiwru, Emmanuel Degleh and Christiana Sonpon as members respectively.

Additionally, former Radio Kergeahma Former Manager, Representative Nyahn Flomo, ALICOR President Hector Mulbah, Internews and ALICOR Board Chair Teah Doegmah will serve as ex-officio members of the Constitution Review Committee.
