MONROVIA – The Martin K.N. Kollie Foundation (MKNKF) has granted scholarships worth L$1 million to 17 Liberian students, demonstrating its commitment to creating opportunities for underprivileged youth. The award ceremony took place on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Corina Hotel in Monrovia, bringing together recipients from various educational institutions.
The initiative is part of MKNKF’s broader mission to build a society rooted in equality, shared prosperity, and opportunity for all Liberians. Delivering an inspirational message through a proxy, Martin K.N. Kollie, the exiled Liberian activist and founder of the foundation, highlighted the importance of education and youth empowerment.
“Growing up in the slum communities of Logan Town, Jallah Town, and Stockton Creek, I understand the crushing challenges faced by vulnerable populations. Despite the storms of life, we want to use our story to inspire hope and show that it is possible to rise above poverty and become agents of positive change,” Kollie remarked.
Kollie emphasized the foundation’s mission to bridge gaps for underprivileged communities, instill hope, and foster transformative opportunities. “We cannot do everything for everyone, but we can do something for someone. Together, we can create a legacy of equal opportunity and shared prosperity,” he added.
