SENATOR JOSEPH ACCUSED OF BULLDOZING INDUSTRIOUS PARK TO MAKE WAY FOR HOSPITAL

Date:

GARDNERVILLE, MONTSERRADO COUNTY – Montserrado County Senator Saah Joseph is being accused of bulldozing the Monrovia Industrious Park in Gardnersville without approbation from the Government of Liberia.

The area is set aside by law for the construction of factories and other plants. But according to eyewitnesses, the senator without legal authority, allegedly took his yellow machines comprising bulldozers to the former Maggi Cube factory in Gardnersville and began clearing the area for the construction of a 75-bedroom hospital.

The industrious park falls under the bureau of the industry at the ministry of commerce. The ministry of commerce has not spoken on the issue, but Smart News gathered that the ministry has not authorized Senator Joseph or any other person to bulldoze or construct anything hospital in the park.

Our source said proponents of the so-called 75-bed room hospital which is a private initiative have not sought approval from the ministry of commerce.

It is alleged that the hospital will be financed by the Mandingo association in the United States to the tune of US$2 Million.

Our sources maintained that the group has allegedly sought the assistance of the Montserrado County Senator to have the parked clear using his yellow machines.

All efforts made by Smart News to contact Senator Joseph failed. A call was placed to his mobile phone could not get a response.
