SPEAKER KOFFA PROMISES INCREASED SUPPORT FOR INTEGRITY INSTITUTIONS AT ANTI-CORRUPTION POLICY DIALOGUE

MONROVIA – House Speaker J. Fonati Koffa has pledged to bolster government backing for integrity institutions in Liberia. His commitment came during a one-day Anti-corruption Policy Dialogue held at the Boulevard Palace in Monrovia.

Addressing attendees, Speaker Koffa not only promised increased government support but also advocated for a comprehensive revenue audit to ensure transparency in financial matters.

The Anti-corruption Policy Dialogue was organized by the Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia, with financial backing from the Embassy of Sweden in Liberia and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. The event aimed to delve into the theme “Increasing Funding to Anti-corruption Efforts: Benefits and Recommendations Actions.”

The dialogue provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the national budget in supporting anti-corruption initiatives and reforms. With the participation of government officials, civil society organizations, and experts in the field, the event facilitated constructive discussions and shared insights on combating corruption more effectively.

The funding support from the Embassy of Sweden and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency underscores the international community’s commitment to supporting Liberia’s anti-corruption efforts. Their contribution enabled the Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia to organize this pivotal dialogue, fostering collaboration and collective action towards a more transparent and accountable governance system in Liberia.
