WAR OF WORDS ESCALATES BETWEEN NPA MANAGING DIRECTOR AND VOICE OF LIBERIA RADIO OWNER FOLLOWING THE RELEASE OF A DAMNING ‘BANK DOCUMENT’

Date:

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – In a recent turn of events, a heated war of words has unfolded between Mr. Sekou Hussein Dukuly, the Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA), and Sekou V. Sheriff, the owner of the Voice of Liberia Radio (VOL). The dispute stems from allegations of corruption within the NPA and accusations that Mr. Dukuly obtained his position through illicit means.

The Voice of Liberia Radio had publicly accused the NPA boss of engaging in corrupt practices and claimed that Mr. Dukuly had bought his way into the role of Managing Director. In response, the NPA boss has reportedly relied on surrogates to counter these accusations on his behalf.

Adding fuel to the fire, VOL boss Sekou Sheriff recently released what he claimed to be a United States FBI Investigative report linking Dukuly to illicit drugs. However, the authenticity of the document could not be verified. Shortly after its publication, James Samuel Goodday Flomo, an employee of the pro-government news network, Spoon, launched a scathing attack on Sekou Sheriff, suggesting that the FBI report was fake.

Today, Sekou Sheriff released another bombshell, revealing what he purported to be a bank account belonging to the son of President Joseph Boakai, Jojo. The account allegedly shows payments made to Jojo’s account in a Ghanaian bank, with Sekou Sheriff claiming that the NPA boss had paid for his position at the NPA.

In a social media statement, Sekou Sheriff stated, “He was made MD at the disappointment of the UP’s Chairman who had to protest, but it seems like what Jojo wants, he gets from his dad since he’s expected to take care of the family after the old man has left the stage.”

The post further suggested that these alleged payments were made after the election, when no electoral expenses were necessary, indicating a job hunt movement.

Sekou Sheriff expressed concern over the apparent selling of jobs and hinted that sanctions may be imposed. He also alleged that the Americans were documenting this information, and the first report on Liberia would be highly damaging, covering issues ranging from human rights violations to corruption and other vices.

As of now, neither Jojo nor the NPA boss has provided any comment or response to these allegations. The public eagerly awaits their clarification on the matter.

This ongoing clash between the NPA Managing Director and the Voice of Liberia Radio owner has sparked intense debate and raised serious concerns about corruption within the NPA and the potential consequences for Liberia’s reputation. The allegations and counter-accusations suggest a deepening rift that could have far-reaching implications for both individuals and the country as a whole.
