DID SPECIAL PROJECT HEAD KEITA & NATHENAIL MCGILL DEMAND US$5 MILLION FROM INVESTORS?

Date:

MONROVIA – The head of the Special Project in the office of President George Weah, Madam Makenneh Keita, and Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel F. McGill allegedly requested at least over US$ 5 to 10 million from two South African investors, who are in the country to explore invest opportunity in country’s business climate.

Mr. Mark Anthony Benner and Garden Dickson are in the country at the invitation of Madam Keita’s office through some Liberian investors headed by a Liberian only identified as Dr. Saydee.

According to a source, confidants of President Weah, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel F. McGill, and the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Samuel Tweah are in the know of the investors in the country but is not clear whether Minister Tweah is in collaboration of pair’s clandestine operation request of the money from the South African; which they [Madam Keita and McGill] allegedly request should pay in an account in the Central Bank of Liberia.

Further, the source narrated that the investors agreed to pay the amount requested, but under a legal agreement or a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), they will inform their partners for the money to be wired to Liberia. But Madam Keita refused such an arrangement requesting the South Africans leave Liberia immediately.

Before the misunderstanding broke out, according to the source, the investors promised to implement some of the country’s priorities including Mano River initiatives; the construction of the national library; and the coastal highway construction…

On the refusal of the investors to deposit the amount, Ministers McGill and Madam Keita then instructed the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) to take hold of the passports of the South African investors, denying ever writing or signing a letter of invitation for the two South Africans.

The two investors are currently stationed at the Royal Grand Hotel in Sinkor, Monrovia.

The source further indicated that McGill and Madam Keita have ordered the Liberia National Police (LNP) to arrest Dr. Saydee and colleagues, on ground they are fraudsters. Dr. Saydee and his colleagues are currently behind bars at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police.

Because of the refusal of the investors, she immediately requested for them to leave Liberia.

She claims that the investors are fraudsters for which their passports were seized by the Liberia Immigration Service but she later requested that the LIS release the passports because she wanted the investors to leave Liberia immediately.
