The Union was informed on November 13, 2023, about the tragic loss of this distinguished and revered leader. Mr. Sesay’s remarkable contributions to the journalism community and the nation are duly acknowledged, and his absence will be deeply felt.
During his years of journalism, Terrence Sesay held the position of editor-in-chief at the Liberia News Agency (LINA), accumulating a wealth of experience spanning thirty-four years in journalism. Notably, he recently served as a correspondent for the German News Agency (DPA) and Al Jazeera. From 1998 to 2004, he diligently reported as the Liberia Correspondent for Agence France Presse, covering stories related to the country’s second civil war.
Mr. Sesay will be remembered for his significant efforts in advancing the pro-democracy stance of the Press Union of Liberia and enhancing the quality of journalism throughout the nation. His unwavering dedication and passion for journalism were evident throughout his career, setting a high standard of professionalism in the field.
