GENDER MINISTER, EPS DIRECTOR, OTHERS FAILED TO DECLARE THEIR ASSETS

Date:

MONROVIA – Liberia’s Minister of Gender, Children & Social Protection, Madam Williametta E. Saydee-Tarr, and the Director of the elite security unit, the Executive Protection Service (EPS), Mr. Trokon N. Roberts, are among scores of exiting officials of the Government of Liberia (GoL), who are yet to make exit declarations of their assets, as they depart government following the inauguration of Liberia’s 26th President, Joe Boakai, on Monday, 22nd January 2024.

A 2014 amended Act of the Legislature regarding the Code of Conduct for public officials makes Exit Declarations by exiting appointed officials of government mandatory. The deadline for officials of the outgoing administration to make Exit Declarations expired on 12th December 2023.

Both Saydee-Tarr and Roberts were named in a list of non-compliant exiting officials published Thursday by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC).

Others the LACC named in its list of second batch of non-complaint exiting appointed officials are Worlea Seyuah Dunah, Minister of Post and Telecommunication; the resigned Director General of the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA), Moses Kollie; EPS Deputy Director for Administration and Operations, Henrik Sodjatt Wolo; two deputy ministers and one assistant minister at the Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Protection, Alice Howard-Johnson; Lydia Mai Sherman, and Maminah G. Carr-Gaye.

The rest include the Deputy Executive Director for Operation of the Liberia Refugee Repatriation Resettlement Commission (LRRRC), George Wallace; two assistant ministers at the Ministry of Education, Dominic D.N. Kweme, and Thelma T. Manson-Nimmo; two deputy ministers at the Ministry of National Defense, Anthony K. Jelly, and Prince Vincent; Mohammed K. Jalloh, Director for Program, Cooperative Development Agency; and at the Ministry of Public Works, three assistant ministers, Bolton Dennis; Dave Slewoin; and Edmond K. K. Lloyd.

At the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the LACC listed Deputy Minister for Planning and Development, Carpon Miller, and Assistant Minister for Energy, William Thompson among non-compliant officials, while at the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), Eric Daniel, Vice President of Finance, is also listed non-compliant.

Four top officials of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication including Minister Dunah, are on the non-compliant list released Thursday by the LACC – Mike Gonlehtuo, Deputy Minister for Operations; Cyrus Kamara, Assistant Minister for Planning Research and Statistics; and Solomon G. K. Boe, Assistant Minister for Telecommunication.

Meanwhile, in an addendum to its first list of non-compliant officials, the LACC on Thursday released the names of scores of officials including police IG Patrick T. Sudue and two of his deputies, who were previously listed as being non-compliant, as now being in compliance with the Exit Declarations process.
