PROF. WILSON TARPEH SUES GOVERNMENT

Date:

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – In a surprising turn of events, the Supreme Court of Liberia has issued a stay order on the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and Executive Branch of the Liberian Government after former Director Wilson Tarpeh filed a writ of prohibition for wrongful removal from the entity.

Tarpeh, who had a contract on tenure, was reportedly forced out of office by the Boakai administration, leading him to seek legal action against the EPA. The court has cited both parties to appear before Justice Yusuf Kana on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, to present their cases.

This development has sparked controversy and raised questions about the actions of the Boakai administration and the legality of Tarpeh’s removal. The Supreme Court’s decision to intervene in this matter has brought renewed attention to the issue of government accountability and transparency.

As the case unfolds in court, many will be watching closely to see how it will impact the future of the EPA and the broader implications for governance in the country.
