MONROVIA – Representative Prince A. Toles of District #8, Montserrado County, is expected to receive a formal petition from protesters of the “Enough is Enough” movement on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The protest, organized by Solidarity & Trust for a New Day (STAND) and backed by the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), marks a major moment of civil mobilization under the administration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.
Rep. Toles, a member of the ruling Unity Party and Chair of the House’s Claims and Petitions Committee, will officially receive the petition on Capitol Hill as thousands are expected to march in demand of justice, accountability, and economic relief. The petition symbolizes growing public frustration with what protest leaders describe as worsening governance and rising socioeconomic hardship.
Meanwhile, Representative Frank Saah Foko of District #9, Montserrado County, has issued a powerful statement endorsing the protest. Speaking on Wednesday, July 16, Foko declared his unwavering support for the demonstrators, calling the movement a voice of “a wounded nation crying out for healing.”
“At a time when our country stands at a critical crossroads, I can no longer remain silent,” Foko stated. “This is not just about politics; this is about principle. I stand with the people. I stand for truth. I stand for a Liberia where leaders are held accountable, where no child goes to bed hungry while corruption goes unchecked.”
Foko criticized what he called political manipulation, rising poverty, police brutality, and economic stagnation. He condemned the “abuse of power,” pointing to the dismissal of public servants and interference in legislative functions. He vowed to personally deliver and defend the protest petition and assured protesters of his presence during the demonstration.
“To the market women, the students, the motorcyclists, the healthcare workers, the unemployed, and every Liberian who feels voiceless, I say, rise peacefully but boldly,” Foko added. “Your pain is real. Your voice matters.”
Meanwhile, STAND’s Secretary General, George S. Tengbeh, announced designated gathering points for protesters across all 17 districts of Montserrado County. From Parker Paint in District 1 to Point 4 Junction in Districts 16 and 17, the logistical framework is set for what organizers hope will be a peaceful yet impactful march to Capitol Hill.
