MONROVIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has announced a fresh wave of appointments and nominations affecting several key government institutions, signaling his administration’s continued effort to strengthen governance and promote inclusive leadership across sectors.
According to an Executive Mansion press release issued Tuesday, July 15, 2025, and signed by Presidential Press Secretary Atty. Kula Bonah Nyei Fofana, the new nominations impact the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Lottery Authority, and the Liberia Electricity Corporation. Where applicable, the appointments are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.
At the Liberia Telecommunications Authority, President Boakai nominated Mr. Patrick R. Honnah, Mrs. Angela Cassell Bush, and Mr. Ben Fofana to serve as commissioners. At the Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Cora N. Hare Konuwa was named Deputy Minister for Administration, while at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mr. Richmond Fleming, II was appointed Commissioner for Schieffelin Township.
Meanwhile, Mr. Peter L. Solo has been tapped as Director General of the National Lottery Authority, and Mr. Ciapha S.M. Gbollie, Jr. has been named to serve as a member of the Board of Directors at the Liberia Electricity Corporation.
The President expressed confidence in the integrity, qualifications, and experience of the nominees, stressing the urgency of their confirmation to advance key reforms and service delivery within the affected institutions. He called on the appointees to demonstrate unwavering diligence, professionalism, and loyalty in the discharge of their duties.
As his administration approaches its second year, President Boakai has continued to expand his leadership team with individuals he believes can help drive change, restore public trust, and ensure that national institutions serve the best interests of the Liberian people.
