MONROVIA – A high-powered delegation from Sharda University in Greater Noida, India, on Monday, August 18, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the President of the University of Liberia (UL), Dr. Layli Maparyan, as part of efforts to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions.
During the visit, discussions centered on academic programs and initiatives that could expand and add value to the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the universities. Among the key proposals were the establishment of a joint UL–Sharda University Dental School, sponsorship opportunities for Liberian faculty members to study at Sharda University, and the implementation of a Medical Camp project.
The delegation, led by Mr. Yesh Verma, Assistant Manager of the International Relations Division at Sharda University, also presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Maparyan in recognition of her stewardship in education and her leadership in advancing higher learning in Liberia.
The talks further highlighted opportunities for faculty and academic exchange programs, including semester-long visiting professorships and short-term faculty visits, aimed at strengthening teaching, research, and knowledge-sharing between the two universities. Sharda University also pledged high-tech website development support to enhance UL’s digital infrastructure.
This collaboration builds on the success of a medical camp jointly organized by the two institutions last year at the John F. Kennedy Medical Hospital in Monrovia, which brought together medical professionals from both universities to provide critical health services.
The Sharda University delegation extended an official invitation to Dr. Maparyan to visit their world-class campus and facilities in Greater Noida, India, to further explore areas of partnership and deepen institutional ties.
