CALVARY TEMPLE ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH CLOCKS 34

Date:

LIBERIA – Members of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church (CTAGC), located in Jacob Town, Paynesville, on Sunday, November 20, 2022, held a thanksgiving service as part of activities commemorating their  34th Anniversary as a   congregation.

Prior to the thanksgiving program, other activities were executed in accordance with the calendar of events, as planned and endorsed by the leadership of the CTAGC about three months ago, including a five-day revival that attracted a number of gifted preaches from within the circles of the Assemblies of God Church Liberia (AGL), for instance, Rev. John Fallah Roberts of the Liberty Assembly of God Church in Kakata City, Margibi County and a cake rally, with the women of Calvary Temple proudly walking away with the cake.

During a sermon, majority of the church members described as brief, but spiritually suitable, the Pastor-In-Charge of the Mount Calvary Assembly of God Church in 1603, Barnesville, Rev. Helena K. Jallah, called on believers of the Christian Faith in general and members of Calvary Temple A.G Church to guide against practices that have the proclivity to bring dishonor to God’s kingdom.

Preaching on the theme: “Reaching Out to Make Disciples for Christ,” Rev. Jallah, who herself is a former member of the Calvary Temple A.G. Church urged members of the church to go out into the various communities to evangelize.

In the sermon, drawn from Matthew 28:16- 20, with other references, she observed that going out and making disciples for Christ is recorded in Biblical history as the final commission Jesus gave to his disciples. Against such backdrop, Rev. Jallah urged Christians not to treat such an important spiritual commission with less attention.

According to a release from the Secretary of the 2022 Anniversary Committee, Jacob N.B. Parley, Rev. Jallah was however quick to remind the congregation that making disciples for Christ entails a lot of constructive steps and at times processes that are time-consuming, because there may be people who may find it difficult to let go certain negative things in their lives.

The Pastor-In-Charge of the Mount Calvary A.G. Church also spoke about the issue of discipline, being a light to the world, having empathy for others, especially the lost sheep, and the need to always praise God instead of too much complaining as Christians.

“Praising God brings about blessing and breakthrough in the lives of God’s children, look at the case of Paul and Silas, who were delivered from prison as a result of praising God,” she added.

For his part, the Head Pastor of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church, Rev. Dr. James Z. Kapel, Jr, in a special thanksgiving message showered praises upon God for what he described as 34 years of existence as a congregation through God’s direction.

Speaking from the United States of America via mobile phone, Rev. Kapel said the church would not have made the progress it keeps making without God’s direction.

He hailed the entire congregation for working together, particularly the program committee headed by Louis Rogers,  thereby making the 34th Anniversary Program of the Church a resounding success and prayed for God’s protection upon the church and Liberia as a nation.

During the thanksgiving service, a member of Calvary Temple A.G Church, Vero Woods, who won this year’s Assemblies of God Liberia Ways and Means Committee Queen Contest, was officially crowned.
