LIBERIA RETAINS SEAT ON IMSO ADVISORY COMMITTEE

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Liberia to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is pleased to announce that Liberia has retained its seat on the Advisory Committee of the International Mobile Satellite Organization (IMSO).

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Liberia’s appointment was confirmed during a meeting of the Africa Group at the 30th Session of the IMSO Assembly, currently being held in London. Liberia also had the distinguished honor of leading discussions within the Africa Group.

This important development further underscores Liberia’s continued engagement and leadership in international maritime governance and its commitment to advancing global maritime safety, security, and effective satellite communications.

As a member of the IMSO Advisory Committee, Liberia will continue to contribute to policy deliberations and institutional oversight aimed at strengthening maritime satellite communication services, particularly those essential to the safety of life at sea.

Liberia Permanent Representative to the IMO Amb. Robert Wilmot Kpadeh says the Permanent Mission welcomes this renewed appointment as another affirmation of Liberia’s active participation, leadership, and growing influence in global maritime affairs.

“Liberia remains firmly committed to promoting a safe, secure, efficient, and sustainable global maritime industry”, Amb. Kpadeh stated.
