The 1st Vice President of the Liberia Football Association, Prof. Sekou Konneh has stressed the importance of being rigid on Liberian coaches in order to set comparative standards.
Prof Konneh also cautioned fellow coaches that it’s easy to criticize but those criticisms should show respect to the system void of politics.
“It’s important to be rigid because if standards are not set, coaches who don’t have the requisite requirements could be up there like those who met the requirements.
“I want to encourage you that one day, some of you will be in those positions and if you’re just unnecessarily critical of others, when your time comes others will do the same to you,” Prof Konneh averred.
The 1st Vice President was speaking at the opening of a CAF B Diploma Course for 19 candidates at the SKD Sports Complex today.
The Course is the first of two this year that’ll be administered by the LFA with evaluation supervised by CAF.
Prof Konneh also used the occasion to call for deportment and discipline of coaches something he said are characteristics that decision makers of the game solely observed.
“Indiscipline concept is not the use of profanity but rather the very little things that matter such as “time and organization”.
“I’ll encourage all to do their best while working together as a team and hoping for the best the future holds,” the 1st Vice President concluded.
Certified CAF Instructor Kaetu Smith is the lead facilitator for the course which will be accomplished in three modules.
He’ll be assisted by Liberia head Coach Ansu Keita and CAF women coach instructor Famatta Dean.
The first module if the course is from 20-27 February while the second and third modules will be done in March and April respectively.
