ABDULLAH SOW ARRESTED AS LDEA SEIZES MAJOR TRAMADOL SHIPMENT AT BO WATERSIDE BORDER

MONROVIA – Officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) at the Bo Waterside Port of Entry in Grand Cape Mount County intercepted a major consignment of tramadol on Thursday, November 6, 2025, resulting in the arrest of 22-year-old Abdullah Sow, a resident of Caldwell.

The seizure occurred at approximately 3:30 PM during a routine inspection when LDEA officers discovered the narcotics hidden in multiple compartments of a Toyota Corolla vehicle bearing Liberian license plate A121533. The vehicle had arrived from neighboring Sierra Leone, and Sow, who was driving, was immediately taken into custody for further investigation.

This latest interdiction underscores the LDEA’s intensified operations against drug trafficking, particularly along Grand Cape Mount County, a known transit route for cross-border smuggling. “Despite traffickers’ ever-changing methods of concealing narcotics, the LDEA remains resolute, vowing to leave no stone unturned in its fight against the illicit drug trade,” said G. Olando Demey, Chief of the Public Relations Department of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency.

LDEA continues to urge the public to support anti-drug efforts by reporting any suspicious activity through the agency’s hotlines: 0777133333 or 0888133333. The arrest of Abdullah Sow and seizure of the tramadol shipment reinforce Liberia’s commitment to combating drug-related crimes and safeguarding the nation from the dangers posed by illicit narcotics.
