MONROVIA, LIBERIA – On December 23, 2024, journalist Nyantee Genero Samuel Togba of OK FM was honored as the Most Outstanding Media Personality of the Year 2024 by the Positive Thinkers of Banjor, a non-profit organization based in Lower Virginia, Montserrado County.

During the ceremony, Musa Foboi, Chair of the Positive Thinkers of Banjor, emphasized the importance of recognizing individuals in media for their contributions to governance, advocacy, and the dissemination of accurate information. For his part, Togba expressed profound gratitude for the recognition. “Thank you so much for this honor,” he said. “The little work we do at OK FM is being monitored and appreciated by many Liberians. Our principle is to provide balanced and credible journalism that drives societal change.”

Togba also emphasized his dedication to authenticity in reporting, stating that he never accepts information at face value but ensures thorough investigation before dissemination. “Journalism is of no essence if it does not drive change in society,” he added.

Togba credited OK FM and its newsroom team for providing him the platform to excel. He vowed to continue delivering reliable information to the public, despite challenges such as limited resources. “Many times, we invest our own resources to get the job done, but we remain committed because we know the value of our work to society,” he said.

Togba’s work has been widely praised across the country for its balance and credibility. His frequent Facebook updates on national issues have garnered a large following among journalists and media institutions.

Prominent individuals such as Atty. Teklo Maxwell Grigsby and James Naplakposo Fallah also applauded Togba. Grigsby called him “Reporter of the Year,” while Fallah described him as proactive, credible, and hardworking, declaring, “Liberians have already selected you as their Journalist of the Year 2024.”

The management of Smart News Liberia extended congratulations to Togba, emphasizing his excellence in journalism.

Togba dedicated the award to his team at OK FM and encouraged fellow journalists to remain steadfast in their commitment to truth and integrity.
