MONROVIA – The Apostolic Pentecostal Church (APC) International has concluded its Special Thanksgiving Service on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the church’s edifice, Desert Assembly on VOA#1 Road in Brewerville, Montserrado County.
The one-day thanksgiving service was presided over by the Bishop of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, Rev. Dr. Kortu K. Brown, and it was called a “Celebration of Life, Health and Happiness” held on the theme: “The Lord Is My Healer!” with Scripture Text from Exodus Chapter 15 vs 26 and Acts Chapter 3 verses 1 through 9…
Accordingly, the service was intended to enable leaders and members of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church to gather to give thanks to Almighty God for the healing and health of our church members who were sick and healed by Him over the last few years.
The service was organized in collaboration with Church Aid Inc (CAI) and other collaborating partners to activate the formalization of its Peace and Justice Commission (PJC) which has been underdeveloped for quite a while now and to consolidate the work of the church and partners in the areas of human rights, advocacy, peace, reconciliation and democracy, amongst others.
The goal of the Peace and Justice Commission is to help “Sustain Peace, Uphold Justice and Support a Sustainable Community Life” in Liberia and beyond. The intervention will also include advocacy for the fulfillment of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the campaign to address the plight of stateless persons across Africa; and against sexual and gender-based violence, suspicious deaths, neglect of rural communities, amongst others.
