MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Apostolic Pentecostal Church International is excited to announce its upcoming 16th General Biennial Conference from Monday, April 29 to Sunday, May 5, 2024. The conference will take place at the New Water in the Desert Assembly on VOA#1 Road in Brewerville, Montserrado County, under the theme: “TO GOD BE THE GLORY!” inspired by Psalm 29:2.
The church aims to give thanks for Liberia’s successful 2023 Presidential and Legislative elections and the smooth democratic transition that followed, which captivated both Liberians and the global community. The event will also celebrate the church’s resilience in serving Liberia amid various challenges.
Over 500 delegates are expected to attend, including special guests arriving over the weekend and church delegates from across the country on Monday. The conference will kick off with a training session by Dynamic Church Planting International, aiming to train up to 100 church planters and evangelists as part of a global initiative to establish 5 million churches by 2050.
The formal opening ceremony on Tuesday, April 30, will feature Archbishop Thomas Paul Schirrmacher, the outgoing Secretary-General of the World Evangelical Alliance, as the Keynote Speaker. The World Evangelical Alliance boasts a global membership of over 600 million members. The opening will be followed by the Official Conference Thanksgiving Parade, and both the Liberian Government and Christian community are invited.
Throughout the week, activities will include training sessions, field evangelism, awareness campaigns on various issues like Statelessness and birth registration, Ear and Hearing Care programs, Comprehensive Sexuality Education, a Mobile Medical Clinic, and a Global Public Health Forum. The conference will conclude on Sunday, May 5, with the Certification of Church Planters and Evangelists and Licensing of Ministers.
The Apostolic Pentecostal Church also highlighted the efforts of its relief and development arm, CHURCH AID INC. (CAI), which has provided Ear and Hearing Care to over 1,219 individuals since February 2024, restoring hearing for many through various treatments and aids.
The church extends an invitation to the Government of Liberia, Christian community leaders, and the general public to join in thanking God for the nation’s democratic progress, peace, security, and efforts to assist the needy.
“May God bless the Church, Our Partners, and the People and Nation of Liberia and the World, IN JESUS NAME!”
