ARMED ROBBERY CLAIMS MOTORCYCLIST’S LIFE

Date:

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – A motorcyclist was shot and killed late Sunday night on 8th Street in Sinkor during a violent robbery, intensifying fears about the rising crime wave in Monrovia. Witness accounts indicate that unidentified attackers ambushed the victim, forcibly took his motorbike, and fled the scene.

The body was transported to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center for examination, but authorities have yet to release the victim’s identity.

The incident has sparked anger and fear among residents of Sinkor, who are urging law enforcement to swiftly apprehend those responsible. Community members are also calling for enhanced security measures to address the growing threat of violent crimes in the capital.

This fatal shooting is part of a troubling pattern of motorbike-related violence in Monrovia. On the same day, two individuals were reportedly beaten by mobs after being accused of attempting to steal motorbikes, further underscoring the volatile security situation in the city.
