BEYSOLOW SAYS BOAKAI’S ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY IS ELEVATING LIBERIA’S GLOBAL STANDING AT DAVOS

Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti has credited President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s economic diplomacy with strengthening Liberia’s international profile, following high-level engagements at the World Economic Forum in Davos. In a statement on Thursday, January 22, 2026, Beysolow said the Administration’s approach is yielding tangible results by allowing current investors and partners to speak directly on Liberia’s behalf.

According to the Foreign Minister, President Boakai’s strategy prioritizes credibility and delivery over rhetoric. “JNB is taking Liberia higher,” Beysolow wrote, emphasizing that Liberia’s strongest diplomatic asset is the confidence expressed by partners already doing business with the country.

Beysolow highlighted that economic diplomacy is most effective when it is reinforced by investors who can attest to a country’s seriousness and reform direction. “He says economic diplomacy is strongest when your current investors and partners can speak for you,” she noted, framing the Davos engagements as a validation of Liberia’s evolving international posture.

The Foreign Minister disclosed that major global institutions publicly voiced support for Liberia during a roundtable discussion at Davos. She specifically acknowledged SpaceX and the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) for endorsing Liberia at the high-level forum, describing their participation as a strong signal of confidence in the country’s economic direction.

“Thanks to SpaceX and Afreximbank for speaking in support of Liberia at our Davos roundtable event,” Beysolow wrote, underscoring the importance of having globally respected entities publicly associate with Liberia’s development agenda.

Beyond the roundtable, Beysolow revealed that the Liberian delegation also held strategic engagements with key figures in the global technology and investment space. She confirmed a meeting involving Elon Musk and senior executives at X, formerly Twitter, as part of Liberia’s broader outreach to innovative and high-impact partners.

“Thanks to Elon, Lauren Dreyer and Richard for the meeting at X,” she stated, pointing to the Administration’s efforts to engage decision-makers capable of influencing technology, investment flows, and global perception.

Beysolow said these engagements reflect a deliberate shift toward results-driven diplomacy, where Liberia positions itself as a credible partner in global economic conversations rather than a passive participant seeking sympathy or aid.

She further indicated that the Davos meetings align with President Boakai’s vision of repositioning Liberia through strategic partnerships that can drive growth, investment, and long-term economic transformation.

“Now I can finally share these photos,” Beysolow added, signaling that the engagements were not symbolic appearances but substantive discussions that the Administration believes will translate into concrete outcomes.
