BOAKAI CALLS ON LNBA TO MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE AND PROMOTE JUSTICE

Date:

MONROVIA – President Joseph Boakai has urged the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) to remain independent and committed to the principles of justice, cautioning against any form of political influence. Addressing the association’s newly elected leadership at an induction ceremony on Friday, January 31, 2025, he emphasized that legal professionals must uphold the rule of law without bias.

Speaking at the event held at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, President Boakai reminded the LNBA that its strength lies in its neutrality and dedication to fairness. He assured the legal community of his administration’s openness to collaboration and encouraged ongoing engagement in governance and judicial matters.

During the ceremony, Cllr. Bornor M. Varmah was officially sworn in as the new president of the LNBA, along with other elected officials. The gathering brought together members of the judiciary, legislators, diplomats, and legal practitioners from various parts of the country.

President Boakai reiterated his government’s commitment to expanding legal education, ensuring justice is accessible to all citizens, and fostering good governance. He called on the LNBA to play a leading role in ensuring accountability and transparency in Liberia’s legal system.
