BOAKAI ENGAGES WITH AKUFO-ADDO TO STRENGTHEN BILATERAL RELATIONS

Date:

Liberian President Joseph Boakai recently held a meeting with Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra on December 29, 2024. The talks centered around critical regional security issues and the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries, with an emphasis on fostering cooperation for mutual growth.

According to a statement from the Presidential Mansion, the discussions underscored the need for joint efforts to tackle security challenges in the subregion. Both leaders also focused on strengthening collaboration in trade, investment, and development sectors. They reaffirmed their commitment to advancing peace, stability, and economic progress across West Africa.

President Boakai congratulated President Akufo-Addo for his exceptional leadership in Ghana, acknowledging his significant role in the country’s development and his unwavering support for Liberia. He also praised Ghana’s recent successful election, which he highlighted as a testament to the country’s strong democratic traditions.

In response, President Akufo-Addo thanked President Boakai for his visit and reiterated Ghana’s continued support for Liberia’s development initiatives. The two leaders highlighted the importance of regional unity and emphasized the need to deepen the historic relationship between their nations for the benefit of their citizens and the broader ECOWAS community.
