MONROVIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has officially launched the Automated Legal Power of Attorney (LPA) System, a groundbreaking digital platform aimed at restoring dignity, financial access, and trust among government employees across Liberia.
The newly introduced system replaces the outdated paper-based process with a fully automated, biometric, and real-time digital platform that simplifies transactions for civil servants. Through the LPA program, government workers can now purchase essential goods such as household items from accredited vendors using fingerprint verification, with payments spread over six months through payroll deductions.
“You take plenty things and pay small small,” President Boakai remarked, emphasizing the system’s convenience and affordability for public sector employees.
President Boakai described the modernization of the LPA as part of his administration’s wider public sector reform and digital transformation agenda, which aims to make government services more efficient, transparent, and citizen-focused.
The President reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of civil servants, stating that under his leadership, “no civil servant earns less than US$150.” This follows a recent salary top-up that benefited over 23,000 workers across the health, education, security, and agriculture sectors.
The launch of the Automated LPA System marks a significant step toward enhancing financial inclusion and accountability in Liberia’s public service, as the government continues to digitize key administrative processes to promote efficiency and reduce corruption.
