MONROVIA, LIBERIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has suspended Rustonlyn Suacoco Dennis from her role as President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), citing growing concerns over alleged misconduct. The decision, announced in an Executive Mansion statement on Saturday, comes just hours after the president vowed to purge his administration of corruption.
The suspension follows a resolution from NOCAL’s Board of Directors, which called for Dennis to step aside while an investigation is conducted. She has been ordered to relinquish all government properties in her possession and immediately vacate her post. To ensure continuity, Vice President for Operations Fabian Michael Lai has been appointed to oversee the company’s affairs on an interim basis.
The Executive Mansion described the action as a necessary step in maintaining public trust and strengthening accountability within the government. Officials reassured the public that a full inquiry would be conducted to determine the facts surrounding the allegations.
