MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The General Manager of the Boulevard Palace Hotel, Anwar Futloo, has tragically passed away following the ingestion of a dangerous chemical. Medical officials at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center confirmed his death late Monday evening, December 30, 2024.
Preliminary findings suggest Futloo consumed a corrosive substance commonly used for cleaning, leading to severe internal injuries, including extensive damage to his throat and digestive system. The incident reportedly occurred during a visit to a friend’s residence on 9th Street, a location he frequented.
Despite urgent medical intervention, Futloo succumbed to his injuries within hours. Police have since opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. A security guard present at the residence during the incident has been detained for questioning at the Zone 2 Police Station in Slipway.
