CALVARY TEMPLE A.G. CONCLUDES 36TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Date:

A thanksgiving service commemorating the 36th Anniversary of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Paynesville, Jacob Town was held on Sunday, November 26, 2023, with a female minister of the Gospel calling on Liberians not to doubt the ability of God to deliver them.

The Senior Pastor of the Mount Calvary Assembly of God Church in 1603, Barnesville, Rev. Helena K. Jallah said there is no problem in human life that God is not able to solve.

“All we need to do is to believe in God and persevere as Jacob did in the Holy Bilble, when he wrestled with the Angel of God until he got his share of blessing from the Lord,” Rev. Jallah admonished.

According to Rev. Jallah, it is not impossible for God to bless anybody at any time whether it is two months, several weeks, one day, a minute or second left for 2023 to come to an end.  She observed that when hardship steps in, man only looks at the days on the calendar and sometimes thinks that he has been forgotten. However, she mentioned that God has his own calendar which is different from the man-made one.

She added that those who are impatient in life in most cases make the wrong decisions that affect them in time to come. “When you rush for anything in your life, you sometimes get the counterfeit one,” she observed, amidst an applause from the congregation.

She told members of the Calvary Temple A.G. Church in particular, and Liberians in general to realize that God has no time for age, location, and societal status to bless anybody.

She said blessing and every other good thing from God is sometimes preceded by   hardship, pains, frustration and disappointment. The Liberian minister of the Gospel said before Jacob could be blessed by God, he had to wrestle with the Angel with persistency to the point that the Angel inflicted some pains on him by hitting him.

Preaching on the theme: “Encountering God At Another Level,” she outlined three things that have to be taken into consideration for well-meaning Christians to succeed in their service to God.

Rev. Jallah named them as   acknowledging God’s presence, no matter an individual’s condition, the will power to wrestle with God as with the case of Jacob in the Holy Bible, and being focused in life, no matter how many times failure occurs.

For his part, the Senior Pastor of the Calvary Temple A.G. Church, Rev. Dr. James Z. Kapel, Jr, hailed the church for working together to make the celebration success.

Rev. Kapel, speaking via mobile phone from the United States commended Liberians for ensuring that the electoral process was peaceful.

Now that the voting process is over, he urged Liberians for forge ahead in the interest of the country.

As part of activities for the 36th Anniversary of the Calvary Temple A.G. Church, a two-day fast and prayer was held, the first Sunday, November 5, entirely dedicated to the children who trailed the congregation with great songs and a dance on the floor, while the third Sunday, 19th November was  observed as “Old School Sunday,” where members of the congregation  wore dress code depicting the 60’s and 70’s and last Sunday as “ Homecoming” where  members of the congregation and others who could not be seen for some time  due to various reasons  fellowshipped in great thanksgiving . The entire celebration will be concluded on Wednesday, November 29, the official date on which the church was established.
