LIBERIA – The Apostolic Pentecostal Church (APC) International will hold a Special Thanksgiving Service on Friday, April 28, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM.
The service, dubbed as a “Celebration of Life, Health and Happiness” is being held on the theme: “The Lord Is My Healer!” with Scripture Text from Exodus Chapter 15 vs 26 and Acts Chapter 3 verses 1 through 9.
The service is intended to enable leaders and members of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church to gather to give thanks to Almighty God for the healing and health of our church members who were sick and healed by Him over the last few years.
The thanksgiving service, presided over by the Bishop of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, Rev. Dr. Kortu K. Brown, will be held at New Water in the Desert Assembly on VOA#1 Road in Brewerville, Montserrado County, and will include scripture readings, praise and worship, thanksgiving prayer, giving, preaching and fellowship dinner, amongst others
As part of the program to promote peace, health, and healing in the Liberian community, the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in collaboration with Church Aid Inc (CAI) and other collaborating partners will activate the formalization of its Peace and Justice Commission (PJC) which has been underdeveloped for quite a while now and to consolidate the work of the church and partners in the areas of human rights, advocacy, peace, reconciliation, and democracy, amongst others.
The goal of the Peace and Justice Commission is to help “Sustain Peace, Uphold Justice, and Support a Sustainable Community Life” in Liberia and beyond. The intervention will also include advocacy for the fulfillment of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the campaign to address the plight of stateless persons across Africa; and against sexual and gender-based violence, suspicious deaths, neglect of rural communities, amongst others.
