COMMERCE MINISTRY HONORS FIVE EMPLOYEES FOR DILIGENCE

Date:

LIBERIA – The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has recognized five of its employees for their diligence in duty.

The honorees, as a mark of appreciation, were certificated during a well-attended general staff meeting of MoCI employees on Friday, January 6, 2023.

The awardees are John Q. Yekeh, Samie Williams, Robertlyn B. Watson, Yah Quarnty, and Sonnoh Borteh.

Presenting the certificates to them at the MoCI conference room on behave of Commerce and Industry Minister, Mawine G. Diggs, Deputy Commerce Minister for Administration, Wilfred J.S. Bangura, said the Senior Management Team (SMT) was moved by the meticulousness of the five employees during 2022.

Mr. Bangura said the Commerce Ministry’s Senior Management Team, headed by Minister Diggs took the decision as part of its approach to promote productivity on the job through innovation, diligence, and constructive competition amongst the employees.

Deputy Minister Bangura told the gathering that Commerce and Industry Minister Mawine G. Diggs is very keen on putting in place appropriate measures and strategies that will enable the SMT to get the best out of the employees.

“Please remember that we are taking keen note of nearly everything our employees do here and we will continue to appraise you from time to time,” Deputy Minister Bangura added.

He called on the rest of the employees to work harder if they must be awarded in a similar way in the future.

He also warned that the Senior Management Team will not condone any form of practices that have the tendency to hinder productivity, especially as Liberians gear up for the 2023 Elections.

Also speaking, the Chief of Office Staff to Commerce and Industry Minister, Mawine G. Diggs, Mrs. Esther Tolbert admonished other employees who were not honored to learn from their colleagues.

Mrs. Tolbert said the honor bestowed upon the five employees does not however suggest that they are totally faultless, but added that the five were exceptional in areas such as timely arrival on the job, always executing their assigned tasks with diligence, commitment, etc.

Speaking on behave of the honorees; John Yekeh lauded the Senior Management Team, most especially Minister Diggs for the recognition.  Mr. Yekeh said little did they know that the Senior Management Team of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry was taking note of their respective activities.

The elderly man then urged fellow honorees to keep the torch of diligence burning in the interest of the Commerce Ministry.
