MONROVIA – A young man from Congo Town is battling severe injuries at ELWA Hospital after allegedly enduring days of brutal mistreatment inside the compound of a Chinese national identified as “Chinese Michael.” The victim, 22-year-old Momoh Davis, was reportedly held captive, beaten, and subjected to inhumane treatment before being turned over to authorities.
Davis’ mother, Watta Swary, recounted the harrowing ordeal, alleging that her son was locked up, mercilessly assaulted, and even thrown to the businessman’s dogs. She claimed the attack was carried out by security personnel from Pilot Security Guard Service, a firm linked to former National Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) boss Abraham Kromah. Swary, who has demanded justice for her son, provided her contact information for further inquiries.
Community members described distressing scenes of Davis’ prolonged cries for help, which they believe forced “Chinese Michael” to eventually surrender him to the police. The young man had allegedly been left suffering in the compound for three days before his release.
At a community gathering on Friday, February 7, 2025, Halary Koffa, the legal counsel for “Chinese Michael,” defended his client’s actions, alleging that Davis had been caught attempting to steal solar lights from the property. However, Koffa failed to present any proof to substantiate the claim, raising further questions about the businessman’s role in the incident.
Adding to the controversy, Davis has not been charged with any crime, fueling suspicions about how the police are handling the matter. It remains unclear whether authorities have launched a formal investigation into the alleged abuse, leaving the community demanding accountability for the shocking incident.
