MONROVIA – The Chairman Emeritus of the former ruling National Patriotic Party, Chief Cyril Allen, has voiced strong criticism of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s administration. In a recent statement, Allen disclosed that he has not communicated with President Boakai for several months, attributing this silence to dissatisfaction with the President’s handling of state affairs.
Allen emphasized that the Liberian people elected Boakai with the hope that he would bring positive change to the country. However, he argues that the Unity Party government, under Boakai’s leadership, has failed to deliver any significant progress in the last six months. According to Allen, President Boakai is surrounded by “a bunch of unscrupulous bureaucrats of the old order,” who he described as entrenched underachievers. He criticized these officials for their lack of innovation, dynamism, and their tendency to undermine beneficial initiatives.
“We are warning, we are warning,” Allen declared, expressing his frustration with the current administration. He also took a personal jab at President Boakai, pointing out that at nearly 80 years old, seeking employment in such a high position suggests a lack of prior success and achievement.
Allen’s remarks come amid growing public frustration with the perceived stagnation and lack of progress in Liberia. Many citizens have echoed his sentiments, calling for more effective leadership and tangible improvements in their daily lives. The criticism highlights the mounting pressure on President Boakai to address these concerns and demonstrate a commitment to the development and well-being of Liberia.
Furthermore, political analysts suggest that Allen’s comments could signal a wider rift within Liberia’s political landscape, potentially leading to increased opposition and challenges for Boakai’s administration. As the country navigates its current challenges, the need for cohesive and forward-thinking governance remains paramount.
