HON. YEI SAM DELIVERS KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT APOSTOLIC PENTECOSTAL CHURCH INT’L WOMEN’S CONFERENCE

Date:

MONROVIA – The 1st General Women Conference of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church International commenced with an inspiring keynote address delivered by Honorable Rebecca Yei Sam, a distinguished Member of Parliament from the Republic of Sierra Leone. The event took place on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the New Water in the Desert Assembly APC, bringing together women from various backgrounds to discuss empowerment, leadership, and faith.

Honorable Sam, a native of Sierra Leone’s diamond-rich Kono District, has built a career centered on community service, advocacy, and governance. She is a second-term Member of Parliament and serves as Secretary General of the Parliamentary Female Caucus in Sierra Leone. Her leadership extends to key legislative roles, including Chairperson of the Labor Committee and a member of the Finance Committee.

A strong advocate for women’s rights and gender mainstreaming, Honorable Sam’s journey into politics was shaped by her early commitment to uplifting marginalized groups. She has spearheaded several initiatives in her district, including the construction of a health facility, the establishment of a women’s resource center, and the provision of grants for women’s empowerment programs. Her dedication to education is evident through her efforts to supply learning materials to children, ensuring they have access to opportunities that promote self-reliance.

Beyond her political engagements, Honorable Sam is deeply committed to her faith. She is an active member of the Living Word of Faith Outreach Ministries International in Sierra Leone and serves in leadership roles within her church community. She also chairs the Sierra Leone-Israel Friendship Caucus in Parliament, leads prayer meetings among legislators, and organizes covenant family meetings in her home.

Her address at the conference emphasized the critical role of women in leadership, development, and the church. She encouraged attendees to embrace their potential and actively contribute to society, reinforcing the importance of unity, resilience, and faith in achieving progress.

With her charisma and visionary approach, Honorable Sam continues to inspire women across Sierra Leone and beyond. Her work in governance, community development, and spiritual leadership serves as a testament to the power of dedicated and purpose-driven leadership.

Meanwhile, more than 300 women are registered as delegates from the 4 operational church districts of APC International
