HOR SCHEDULES FY2025 BUDGET REVENUE HEARINGS TO PROMOTE TRANSPARENCY

MONROVIA – The House of Representatives, through its Committee on Ways, Means and Finance and the Legislative Budget Office, has released the schedule for the first quarter Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Revenue Performance Hearings. These public hearings will begin on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the First Floor Conference Room of the Capitol Building. The announcement was made in a statement issued by Robert Benjamin Haynes, Director of the Press Bureau at the House of Representatives.

The hearings will span multiple days and include appearances by various key revenue-generating agencies. These institutions will present their performance reports and provide updates on revenue collected during the first quarter of the fiscal year. The participating agencies include the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Liberia Revenue Authority, National Port Authority, Liberia Telecommunications Authority, Liberia Maritime Authority, Liberia Petroleum Refining Company, and several others across critical economic and regulatory sectors.

These sessions are intended to strengthen legislative oversight, ensure that government entities are accountable, and evaluate the alignment of actual revenue performance with projected targets. The hearings will culminate with a comprehensive report to be presented to the Plenary of the House of Representatives by Committee Chairman Hon. P. Mike Jury.

The House of Representatives emphasized that the public, civil society organizations, and the media are welcome to attend the sessions. Their participation is seen as a vital part of maintaining democratic governance and ensuring that public funds are used responsibly. Lawmakers reaffirmed their commitment to transparency, noting that these hearings reflect their obligation to the Liberian people who deserve clarity on how national revenues are generated and managed for development.
