MONROVIA – The former National Chairperson of the political action group, Joseph Nyuma Boakai Tact Team (JNB Tact Team), says in the October 10, 2023 legislative and presidential elections, she will support whoever she believes is best for Liberia.
Ms. Telia Urey in a Facebook post today said: “In the October elections, I will support whoever I believe is best for Liberia. I fear nobody and will not be intimidated by any group of people either. This FALSE narrative that ‘if someone doesn’t support Unity Party, they are going against the country’ is toxic, divisive, and outright ridiculous.”
Telia, the daughter of Mr. Benoni Urey, political leader of the opposition All Liberian Party, further said in her post, “I advise my friends to develop a more strategic campaign plan and message if they are serious about winning this election. Parties and leaders EARN trust and support, they don’t DEMAND and feel ENTITLED to it. We are too advanced in our thinking to subscribe to this.”
“Nobody’s mistakes or bad choices will be my bondage. I will support a team that my conscience tells me is best for Liberia in the short and medium term. Not a team or train that has LOST its direction. Period.”
She continued: “You all can insult, whine, or cry under my post. I will not be shaken or deterred from speaking the truth. This election is too important to us. WAKE UP LIBERIANS!”
“The same UP people insulting Weah and CDC for violence against me in D-15 are the same people celebrating and forgiving Prince Johnson and MDR- the global symbols of violence & chaos! HYPOCRISY!”
A couple of months ago, Telia Urey resigned from the JNB Tact Team, due to political differences. The JNB Tact Team is a political action group organized to support the presidential quest of former Vice President and Standard Bearer of Unity Party (UP), Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai (JNB).
