MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Bill Jallah, 38, has been formally charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Princess Zuo, and the assault of his sister, Kormassa Jallah. The case, marked by violence and heartbreak, unfolded in Paynesville’s Duport Road area and has generated public discussion.
On Friday, December 27, 2024, Jallah was charged and forwarded to the Monrovia City Court on allegations of murder, attempted murder, and aggravated assault. According to the Liberia National Police, Jallah fatally stabbed Zuo during a confrontation and injured his sister as she tried to intervene.
The fatal encounter began on Saturday, December 21, 2024, when Zuo arranged to meet Jallah at the entertainment center Fast Nikel, near Kool FM Radio Station. Sources close to the investigation reveal that the meeting was meant to address concerns Zuo had about Jallah’s recent behavior. However, the discussion quickly escalated into a heated argument.
Witnesses say Jallah became enraged when Zuo confronted him about her grievances and referenced complaints she had previously made to his family. Tensions heightened when Jallah questioned her whereabouts the prior Friday, accusing her of spending time with friends without informing him. Upset by the exchange, Zuo attempted to leave, but Jallah allegedly followed her, blocking her path.
The situation took a deadly turn when Jallah reportedly attacked Zuo with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds to her chest and abdomen. Bystanders rushed Zuo to ELWA Hospital, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police investigations suggest that Jallah arrived at the meeting armed with a knife, indicating premeditation. Jallah, however, disputes this claim, asserting that he only had meat skewers purchased earlier at the entertainment center. The investigation also uncovered evidence suggesting that Jallah may have intended harm, further implicating him in the fatal confrontation.
Kormassa Jallah, who intervened in the altercation, sustained stab wounds to her arm and is recovering in a local hospital. Her testimony is expected to play a pivotal role in building the case against her brother.
Jallah faces charges under Sections 14.1 and 14.20 of the Liberia Penal Code, which address murder and aggravated assault. If found guilty, he could face severe penalties, including life imprisonment.
The Liberia National Police have emphasized the strength of the evidence against Jallah, including eyewitness accounts and forensic findings. Authorities have vowed to ensure a thorough and impartial trial.
