LIBERIA – Following a brief period of medical observation and a deserved time of relaxation, former Liberian Vice President, Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai (JNB), has been discharged from a local hospital, in Paynesville City, outside the capital, Monrovia, according to the former Veep’s Office.
A statement released by Ambassador Boakai’s Office on 15 January 2023, indicates that the former Vice President, who is also the Standard Bearer of Liberia’s main opposition political party, the Unity Party (UP), walked out of the facilities of the ELWA Hospital on Sunday while expressing confidence in Liberian medical staff at the local health center.
Former VP Boakai checked into the ELWA Hospital recently, when he felt a bit uneasy about his health and well-being.
Prior to leaving the local hospital on Sunday, according to the statement, Ambassador Boakai thanked Dr. Socra and the hospital staff, extending maximum appreciation to them for the high level of professionalism exhibited towards him and other patients at the facility.
The statement noted that the UP Standard Bearer added that he was especially moved by the good care shown him while at the hospital.
He then called on all Liberians to have trust, faith, and confidence in their fellow Liberians who are medical doctors in hospitals across the country.
Meanwhile, former VP Boakai’s Office has informed the public that JNB was associated with the discussion that led to the construction of the new wing of the ELWA Hospital and had traveled to the United States on a number of occasions to follow up on said project.
