KEMAYAH BLASTS UP-LED GOVERNMENT, CLAIMS ‘NEGLECT AND EVIL ARE DESTROYING LIBERIA

Date:

MONROVIA – Former Foreign Minister Amb. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, political leader of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE), delivered a scathing critique of the Unity Party-led government, accusing it of neglecting and undermining Liberians. Speaking at a Thanksgiving Service at Forky Klon Jlaleh Family Fellowship Church, Kemayah recounted his battle with a life-threatening illness and criticized the government for allegedly showing indifference to his struggles.

Kemayah credited his recovery to divine intervention, his family, and the unwavering support of former President George Weah. “While I fought for my life, the government was more focused on sabotaging me over a position they couldn’t control,” Kemayah said, labeling the administration’s actions as “evil.”

He urged Liberians to learn from his experience and prioritize electing credible leaders. “The hardships we face are a divine lesson to choose wisely and avoid repeating past mistakes,” he stressed. Kemayah also criticized the administration for failing to address pressing issues like poor infrastructure and public safety, which he said continue to deteriorate under their watch.

“The bad roads remain, and bodies still turn up on our streets—issues once blamed on Weah’s leadership,” Kemayah noted, accusing the Unity Party of creating false expectations and failing to deliver on their promises.

Kemayah also alleged targeted political sabotage, accusing the administration of attempting to block his ECOWAS appointment and infiltrate MOVEE to weaken its coalition with the CDC. “Even during my illness, they were focused on destroying MOVEE and undermining me. But they failed,” he declared.

Drawing on biblical analogies, Kemayah likened Liberia’s current struggles to the Israelites’ trials in Egypt and the wilderness. “The last six years under this administration feel longer than 430 years in Egypt,” he remarked, while expressing hope for the future.

He expressed deep gratitude to former President Weah for his unwavering support during his health crisis. “My family and I will forever be grateful for your love and care. We stand with you,” Kemayah affirmed.

The Thanksgiving Service, attended by MOVEE officials and dignitaries, was also an opportunity for Kemayah to reaffirm his allegiance to the CDC and its leadership under Weah. In his closing remarks, he called on Liberians to trust in God and look forward to a brighter future. “Our hope rests in God and the selfless leadership of former President Weah,” Kemayah concluded.
