MARYLAND CO., LIBERIA – President Boakai’s recent appointment of Larry Geekor as the City Mayor of Pleebo marks a significant development for the county. Geekor’s arrival comes at a crucial juncture, with the country’s attention focused on key government initiatives.
However, the announcement was met with overwhelming support from citizens and various community groups. On Friday, May 3, 2024, the Muslim community, motorcyclists, the Pleebo Marketing Association, and educational stakeholders in the district warmly welcomed Mayor Larry Geekor.
In his statement to the press, Mayor Larry Geekor expressed gratitude to God and President Boikai for the opportunity to serve. He emphasized that his leadership would prioritize the welfare of the citizens over personal or party interests.
“Becoming a mayor is challenging, especially to serve in this capacity. I am grateful to God for choosing me among many brilliant scholars and to President Boikai for appointing me to serve my people,” Mayor Geekor stated.
He pledged to work closely with the community to ensure the city’s development and promised a transparent and inclusive administration.
Representing the chair of chairs in Pleebo, Mr. Daniel Natt, assured the mayor of their commitment to working together for the district’s betterment, despite serving in the previous administration.
Fasu Konneh, the head of the Pleebo Motorcyclists Union, also pledged the union’s cooperation with Mayor Geekor’s leadership and announced voluntary contributions to society.
The induction ceremony for Mayor Larry Geekor is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the Pleebo City Hall. The event is expected to be a significant milestone as the city looks forward to a new era of unity and development under Mayor Geekor’s leadership.
