LBS EMPLOYEES WELCOME NEW DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL FOR RURAL BROADCASTING

Date:

MONROVIA – Jubilant staffers of state radio, especially employees of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) Rural Broadcasting Department, on Tuesday, joyously welcomed their newly appointed Deputy Director General for Rural Broadcasting, Mr. James Nagbe, during an acquaintance meeting held at LBS, in Paynesville City.

The Rural Broadcasting Department staff, many of whom are language announcers representing the tribes of Liberia’s 15 Counties at state radio, traditionally welcomed Nagbe by presenting him a coin, symbolizing the pureness of their hearts in having him as their new boss.

They collectively expressed joy in having Nagbe as the new Head of the Rural Broadcasting Department, with many restating the parlance, “It’s better to be with the devil one knows than the angel that is not known,” a reference to the cordial working relationship they once had with Mr. Nagbe, who previously served LBS as Director of the Rural Broadcasting Department.

“Thank God for your appointment,” the LBS employees told Nagbe, pledging their unflinching support for the new Deputy Director General for Rural Broadcasting, while committing to working with him cooperatively.

They outlined challenges plaguing the Department but expressed optimism that, with Nagbe not being a stranger in the terrain, he would work assiduously to according to them, provide the cure for the challenges they referred to as sickness.

For his part, the LBS’s new Deputy Director General for Rural Broadcasting, Nagbe, thanked the staffers of the Department and informed them that he was there to work with everyone aimed at achieving the overarching mandate of the Liberia Broadcasting System – yea, the Department’s mandate, which is chiefly to inform, educate, and entertain the rural populace of the country.

He disclosed that in conjunction with staffers, the Rural Broadcasting Department at state radio will shortly begin robustly rolling out a 90-day strategic plan to positively impact rural dwellers.
