MONROVIA – Agents of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) assigned at the BO Waterside Port of Entry have made another major drug bust, uncovering 143 strips of Tramadol cleverly concealed inside a 43-inch television set.
According to an official release issued on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, and signed by G. Olando Demey, Chief of the LDEA’s Public Relations Department, the seizure occurred on October 25, 2025, at about 5:20 p.m. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Liberian national Jackson D. Dennis, a resident of Duala, was intercepted by officers after they noticed suspicious activity involving the television he was carrying.
Upon inspection, LDEA officers discovered the hidden drugs, valued at more than L$280,000. The suspect was immediately taken into custody and is currently undergoing investigation. Authorities confirmed that Dennis will be charged and forwarded to court upon the conclusion of the probe.
In a separate operation, LDEA officers arrested another suspect, identified as 38-year-old Sierra Leonean national Joseph Bockarie, on October 28, 2025, at approximately 3:16 p.m. Bockarie was apprehended for possession of 520 strips of Tramadol and an undisclosed quantity of Kush. The substances were discovered concealed within the air-conditioning compartment of a Primera vehicle bearing license plate number ASC229.
The vehicle, which was carrying four passengers at the time of the arrest, has been impounded by the LDEA. The confiscated drugs are estimated to have a street value of L$1,294,600 (approximately USD 6,814.68).
