MONROVIA – The secretariat of the inaugural committee for the 22 January 2024 inauguration of President-elect, Joseph Boakai and his Vice President, Jeremiah Koung, has released the itinerary for the ceremony, announcing the seat of the Legislature, the Capitol Building, located on Capitol Hill, Monrovia, as the official venue for the occasion.
In a statement released to the press yesterday, the National Steering Committee through its secretariat disclosed that the inaugural ceremony will be preceded by several events, including a prayer service in the Benson Street Mosque on Friday, 19 January, to be followed the next day by a Youth Concert, which venue is undisclosed.
In continuation of the inaugural activities, on 21 January, an intercessory service beginning at 10:00 A.M., will be held in the Paynesville City edifice of President-elect Boakai’s place of worship, the Effort Baptist Church.
Thereafter, the following day, on 22 January, the swearing-in ceremony of the president-elect and his deputy will take place on the grounds of the Legislature, to be followed by a presidential luncheon at a venue the National Inaugural Steering Committee is yet to make public.
