LIBERIA: FORMER CHIEF JUSTICE MAY BE INDICTED SOON

MONROVIA – The Liberian National Police is ending its report into the death of Charlor Musu, the daughter of former Chief Justice Gloria Musu-Scott.

The incident took place several weeks ago at the home of Justice Musu-Scott in the Western Brewerville suburb of Monrovia.

That early evening, news broke of the attack on the home of former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott.

Justice Musu-Scott had earlier complained of an earlier attack on her home for which she called for security protection.

The protection did not come until the one that took the life of her daughter and injured another relative of hers.

Since then, there has been blamed shifting in the investigation with family members of the former chief justice claiming the Weah Government was plotting to implicate her in the killing of her daughter.

The ruling party Chairman Mulbah Morlue during a live news conference insinuated that the suspect in the death of Chalor was her own mother.

Now, the Police are concluding their investigation and it appears, Madam Musu-Scott is falling into their dragnet as one of the perpetrators.

But there seem to be some obstacles along the way in getting Gloria Musu-Scott indicted according to top Police sources, who narrated that Justice Minister Frank Musa Dean was allegedly placing impediments into the planned indictment of the former Chief Justice.

There has been a whole day meeting today between the Police top brass and officials of the Justice Ministry.

There were no details on what transpired at the meeting, but it appears, the two groups are trying to reach a compromise on the issue; and the likely possibility is to indict Justice Musu-Scott.
