MONROVIA – Political commentator and All Liberian Party (ALP) executive member, Henry P. Costa, has issued strong criticism of several senior officials within President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s administration, calling for their immediate dismissal over what he described as poor performance, deception, and failure to deliver justice.
Speaking on Sunday night, October 27, 2025, during an interview with Stanton Witherspoon, Chief Executive Officer of Spoon Network, Costa discussed a range of national issues, including governance, corruption, and political leadership.
Costa, a staunch supporter of President Boakai, began by defending the president’s leadership and cautioned against comparing him to former President George Weah, describing such a comparison as “an unacceptable abomination.” He said President Boakai’s moral integrity and commitment to reform set him apart from his predecessor.
Turning his criticism inward, Costa accused Cllr. Bushuben Keita, the President’s Legal Advisor, of giving “poor counsel” to the president and urged that he be replaced. He also called for the removal of Justice Minister Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, whom he claimed has failed to prosecute individuals accused of corruption.
Costa was particularly harsh toward Minister of State Without Portfolio, Mrs. Mamaka Bility, accusing her of attempting to deceive both the President and the Liberian public over the controversial 285 yellow machines deal. “For attempting to steal from the Liberian people and deceive the President, Mrs. Bility should be dismissed,” he declared.
He also criticized Minister of State nominee Hon. Samuel Steve Stevquoah, claiming that he “lied during his confirmation hearing” when he denied knowledge of the US$10 million Foya project, and insisted that he should be reprimanded.
On matters of public communication, Costa advised the Ministry of Information to “recalibrate its communication strategy” by focusing on promoting the government’s achievements rather than fueling unnecessary confrontations with the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).
Costa also revisited his brief alignment with the CDC in 2023, saying it was like “an angry lover flirting with another man just to attract their partner’s attention.” He explained that his frustrations were never directed at President Boakai but rather at certain members of the Unity Party who, he said, mistreated him. “The President is a good person,” Costa emphasized.
In a sharp dismissal of opposition leader Alexander Cummings, Costa asserted that “even if Mr. Cummings dedicated his entire life to running for office, he would still not succeed.”
Following his appearance on the program, Costa posted a brief remark on his official Facebook page, writing: “Well, there you have it! Man talked plenty tonight!”
