MONROVIA – Barely three days after he attended a ceremony marking the naming of the main opposition Unity Party’s vice presidential running-mate, Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, has been dismissed as Minister of Post and Telecommunications, by President George Weah.
Kruah’s dismissal follows a call from ruling party influential lawmaker, Montserrado County District #8 Representative Acarous Moses Gray, who demanded his (Kruah’s) immediate resignation from government on grounds that the now sacked minister, having shown up at the UP ceremony last weekend, is a “traitor” and a “dangerous sellout.”
Rep Gray also described Kruah as a political polytheist and quisling, for whom he said there was no room in the Weah’s administration.
Well, following Rep Gray’s outburst against Kruah, the Executive Mansion on Monday, announced that President Weah had parted company with his minister of Post and Telecommunications, and has immediately replaced him with a former lawmaker of Nimba County, Atty. Worlea-Saywah Dunah.
Kruah, who also hails from Nimba, attended the UP ceremony, where one of his kinsmen, Senator Jeremiah Kpan Koung, was named vice presidential running-mate to the standard bearer of Unity Party, former Vice President Joseph Nyuma Boakai (JNB).
Liberians are poised to go to the polls later this year on 10 October in the country’s general and presidential elections to elect a president, vice president, as well as a horde of representatives and senators.
