12-“Commandments” for Credible, Peaceful RUN-OFF Election on Nov 14
- APPEAL TO LIBERIANS: All Liberians Must be Peaceful and Responsible in their actions and engagements when they Campaign, Vote and/or Return Home to await the results of the elections. THEY MUST REFRAIN FROM ANY DISRUPTIVE ACTIONS
- NEC RESPONSIBILITY: The National Elections Commission (NEC) must ensure that the Run-off elections are conducted in a Free, Fair, Credible and Transparent manner. NO DUPLICITOUS AND/OR MANIPULATION OF ELECTION RESULTS!
- NEC POLLING WORKERS: All NEC field workers at the various polling place across the country must subscribe to the Conduct of a Free, Fair, Credible and Transparent elections for the sake of the peace and security of their country. They must resist any attempt to unduly influence them
- PARTICIPATING POLITICAL PARTIES: The two (2) political parties in the Runoff should strive as much as possible to lead violence-free campaigns and place their Party Agents at each and every Polling place across the country to ensure a proper interpretation of the election results
- SIGNING ELECTIONS RESULTS: Every Party Agent assigned at each polling place must ensure that they witness and sign the checked – and posted results at their polling places before leaving
- MEDIA: The watchdog of society must continue to live up to their premier code for objectivity and impartiality by promoting Accuracy, Brevity and Clarity (ABC) in their reportage
- OBSERVERS: All local and international Observers must be properly and evenly deployed across the country to lend credibility to the process
- OFFICIALS OF POLITICAL PARTIES: All political party OFFICIALS – not accredited as party agents, must be encouraged by their political parties to kindly stay away from the process by not trying to influence or interrupt the voting, counting and/or tallying of votes at the end of the day
- DISPUTES RESOLUTION: All aggrieved parties in the election should take advantage of the legal process beginning at NEC and subsequently, the Supreme Court when dissatisfied with NEC
- YOUTHS OF LIBERIA: The young people must commit themselves again to ensuring that their conduct is peaceful and complementary to ensuring a violence-free process. SAY NO TO ELECTORAL VIOLENCE!!! AND POLITICAL MANIPULATION!!!
- SECURITY FORCES: The Joint Security led by the Ministry of Justice must continue to be vigilant, impartial, and comprehensive in the exercise of their law enforcement duties.
- DIVINE WATCH: All election workers and authorities must realize that a Higher Being than the UN, US, ECOWAS, EU, AU, etc. is Watching them – and they will one day Give an Account to Him
