LIBERIA: U.S. CITIZEN UNDER PROBE FOR “ATTEMPTED MURDER”

Date:

MONROVIA – Authorities have announced that a citizen of the United States of America identified as Lucas Richard, is being interrogated by the Liberia National Police (LNP) on allegations of attempt to commit murder and aggravated assault.

Police in Monrovia have arrested and is investigating Richard, based on allegations that on Thursday, 14 September 2023, at 3 PM, the U.S. citizen drove his female victim, Jessica Lloyd, around Dixville, Caldwell, outside the capital, Monrovia, where he’s reported to have assaulted and injured her, leaving the lady with lacerations on her neck, the back of her head and fingers.

The victim is currently undergoing treatment at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, while Richard is being held in the custody of the LNP at its Capitol Hill, Monrovia Central Headquarters.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the victim’s mother, Cynthia Lloyd pleading for justice to be equitably dispensed in the matter, police have assured members of the public that justice will be served.

Smart News Liberia (SNL) has gathered that the victim’s mother  has disclosed that Richard, who is said to be on missionary duties in Liberia for the Creekside Church, located in Urbandale, IA 50322 United States, is allegedly in a love affair with Jessica.

According to Cynthia, Jessica was recently carrying a pregnancy for Richards, which she claims was deliberately terminated by the American, after he allegedly injected the victim with an unknown substance in her vein.

Howbeit, Richard has denied attempting to kill Jessica, averring that it was rather a motorcyclist that ran her over by the roadside after he dropped her off in the area the incident occurred.
