MONROVIA — Liberia’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, has officially welcomed the newly accredited U.S. Ambassador-designate to Liberia, Mr. Mark Toner, on behalf of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., and the Liberian government. The meeting, part of diplomatic protocol prior to Toner’s formal presentation of credentials to President Boakai, underscored the strong partnership between the two nations.
Minister Nyanti expressed deep gratitude for the United States’ ongoing support, highlighting its crucial role in maintaining Liberia’s stability and peace. She emphasized the historical ties between the two countries and the significant contributions made by the outgoing U.S. Ambassador Michael A. McCarthy, who served from January 2021 to August 2024.
During their discussions, Minister Nyanti and Ambassador-designate Toner addressed a range of important issues, including human rights, climate change, democracy, and governance. Both parties pledged to work towards strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing international cooperation. Minister Nyanti assured Mr. Toner of her Ministry’s full support during his tenure in Liberia.
