MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has arrested several suspects and launched a nationwide manhunt for two security officers in connection with serious crimes, including rape, aggravated assault, robbery, and murder. The developments were disclosed during the Police Report program on ELBC Radio 99.9 FM on Friday, October 10, 2025, hosted by the Press and Public Affairs Division of the LNP.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Cecelia G. Clarke, presenting updates from across the country, underscored the LNP’s firm stance against criminality and misconduct within the security sector. She called on the public to cooperate with the police in ongoing investigations, while emphasizing the force’s zero-tolerance policy on sexual and gender-based violence.
In Nimba County, police arrested Roland Suah and Romeo Markagbo for the gang rape of a 60-year-old woman in Ganta. According to DCP Clarke, one of the suspects is the son of Patrolman Samuel Suah, who is under investigation for allegedly interfering with the arrest. “The Liberia National Police maintains a zero-tolerance policy on sexual and gender-based violence, and no one is above the law,” Clarke stated. The suspects are currently in custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the LNP has launched a nationwide manhunt for two security officers identified as Stephen Suah of the Liberia National Fire Service and Bill Jabbah of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency. The pair is wanted in connection with the death of Abert J. Kerkulah. Clarke appealed to the public to assist in their capture by providing credible information. “If you have any information on their whereabouts, please contact the nearest police station or call any of our hotlines,” she urged.
In Grand Cape Mount County, police arrested Mohammed Dokie for stabbing Mustapha Kromah in the Gold Camp Community. During transportation to a detention facility, Dokie caused a motorbike accident that injured himself, the arresting officer, and the rider. Clarke confirmed that “all three are currently receiving medical treatment” and that Dokie remains in police custody pending further investigation.
A separate case in Grand Kru County involved the arrest of 42-year-old Wilfred W. Doe for the repeated sexual abuse of his 13-year-old niece in Weayan, Bolloh District. The victim is currently receiving care at the Barclayville Health Centre. Clarke described the case as “deeply disturbing” and reaffirmed that the LNP will “ensure justice is served swiftly and decisively.”
In Margibi County, police are investigating a robbery case involving motorcyclist Samuel Johnson, who was found unconscious near the Robertsfield Highway. After regaining consciousness, Johnson told police that his childhood friend, Amos Farbulla, conspired to steal his motorbike by injecting him with a harmful substance. Clarke confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that authorities are pursuing leads to locate Farbulla.
In Montserrado County, a violent confrontation on October 8 in Congo Town left one suspect dead and three officers injured, including one in critical condition. Clarke said the suspect attacked officers with a cutlass and knife, prompting the use of force in line with police policy. “We extend our condolences to the bereaved family and ask the public to keep our injured officers in their prayers,” Clarke added.
The LNP has also announced a reward of US$2,000 for credible information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the death of Ms. Sianeah Victoria Goe in Boys Town, Margibi County. Clarke stressed that “all tips will be treated confidentially,” and encouraged the public to come forward to help solve the case.
On the safety front, Clarke reminded drivers and motorcyclists to adopt responsible road practices to reduce accidents. She urged motorists to slow down near schools and markets, put away mobile phones while driving, obey traffic rules, and wear helmets and seatbelts. “Let’s build a culture of caution. Safety starts with you,” she emphasized.
Clarke ended the program on a solemn note, recounting a candlelight vigil held for the officer critically injured in the Congo Town incident. “This officer ran toward danger so others could be safe. His courage reminds us why we serve,” she said, adding that the officer’s bravery has inspired solidarity within the force. She assured the officer’s family of continued support, saying, “To his family: you are not alone. To the officer: Liberia stands with you. Your light still burns.”
