The Administration of the Liberia National Police (LNP) has immediately suspended two of its officers for one month without salary due to abuse of authority and disobeying lawful orders.
According to a police press release issued on Monday, June 24, 2023, the suspended officers are Patrolmen Teddy R. C. Boulner (ID# 6351) and Gabriel Flomo (ID# 6017), assigned to the Zone Five Base Police Station and the Lofa County Detachment, respectively.
The two officers were seen riding a motorbike without wearing helmets, which contravenes Section 6.1.3 “Abuse of Authority” and 6.4(a) “Disobeying Lawful Orders,” as enshrined in the Administrative Instructions on Discipline and Professional Standards.
Meanwhile, the suspended officers have been ordered to turn over all government properties, including badges, uniforms, ID cards, and boots, and to desist from identifying with the LNP during their suspension to avoid further embarrassment.
The Liberia National Police cautions all other officers to take keen note and act accordingly, as it will not hesitate to reprimand any violators of the rules and regulations of the State.
